Overview of The Chronicles of Knowledge
The Chronicles of Knowledge (TCoK) is a gamified learning platform designed to promote active learning in HE courses and foster students’ engagement and motivation. It also enables teachers to closely monitor the progress of their students throughout the course and to offer personalized support to those in need of it.
TCoK supports the gamification of the most common HE instructional activities, such as:
- Self-assessment
- Individual study at home
- Group project work in class and at home
- Group discussions
- Peer teaching
- Peer evaluation
- etc.
From an educational perspective, TCoK is specifically designed to support the Flipped Learning method.
From a technology point of view, TCoK represents a highly customised version of the popular, and widely used at the Higher Education level, Moodle Learning Management System.
